The Fractis Academy is Fractis Studios’ structured creative apprenticeship programme, based in Johannesburg and open to creatives across South Africa and the world.

There is a difference between knowing how to do something and having done it for a client who paid for it. The Fractis Academy closes that gap – whether you are just starting out, switching disciplines, or wanting to grow into new territory with structured learning and live client projects when ready.

The Fractis Academy - how Fractis Studios grows the next generation of creative professionals in Johannesburg and around the world
Real Work. Real Learning. Real Outcomes. The Fractis Academy places new and experienced creatives on live client projects alongside senior practitioners, built on an apprenticeship model - learn by doing, grow by showing up, earn when your work is ready.
The Four Tiers of the Fractis Academy - Observer, Learner, Junior, Fracti Cores. Progression earned through consistency, quality, and communication, not time served.
Tier 1: Observer - open to anyone, including career changers and creatives from other studios. Sit in on sessions, watch live projects, collaborate at your own pace. No deliverables, no commitment, no pressure.
Tier 2: Active Learner - structured tasks and real creative briefs. Shadow seniors, receive coaching, build toward client-ready work. Skills get built and standards get understood.
Tier 3: Contributing Junior - deliverables go live on real client projects under senior oversight. Discretionary earning begins when you make a meaningful contribution. Portfolio rights included. Real deadlines, full production standards.
Tier 4: Fractis Core - full client work, full deadlines, full earning through project briefs or retainers. Core team member on the same shared ownership model as every collective member. Independent contractor or full-time staff.
Earn as you grow - the Fractis Academy earning structure. Observers and Learners exchange time for real experience. Contributing Juniors enter a discretionary earning pool on live projects, confirmed in writing. Fractis-level members earn on full project briefs or retainers.
Your pace, your path - no fixed timeline, no pressure. Progression through the Fractis Academy is earned through consistency and quality. One member joined as an Observer running his own studio and became the development lead. Another started with no design knowledge and now works exclusively on social media.
